Common questions

Where do my favorites and bar selection live?

On your device only. Nothing is uploaded. If you delete the app or clear the site data, they go with it. There’s no cloud sync (yet).

Why do some drinks have a “Bar Neuf” or “Morgenthaler” tab?

For drinks where the IBA spec and a notable variant differ in proportions or method, both are included as tabs in the detail view. Bar Neuf refers to Martin Parzer’s 2011 menu in Linz; Morgenthaler to Jeffrey Morgenthaler’s The Bar Book.

The liquid in the detail view doesn’t move when I tilt the phone.

The animation needs motion access. Open Settings → Cocktails → Motion & Fitness, and make sure access is allowed. On the web (Safari), iOS asks for permission the first time you open a detail view.

Can I switch between US and metric units?

Yes — there’s an oz/ml toggle on every detail view, and a global one in About. Your choice is remembered.

The app icon expired and the app won’t open (TestFlight build).

Free TestFlight builds are valid for 90 days. Open TestFlight and update to the latest build, or wait for the next App Store update.
